Holiday Information - A to Z

To be read in conjunction with our booking conditions

Accommodation
Various accommodation options are generally available at all resorts. Specific room requirements cannot be guaranteed as allocation is at the discretion of the accommodation supplier. Check in and departure times are variable. Please check at the time of booking how they are affected by your flight times. Room access will be available on arrival, though in some cases, after a night flight, this may constitute your first night. Dayrooms may be available and an extra charge may be made locally. Single occupancy of a twin/double room may be subject to a single supplement at some resorts. Single rooms cannot be guaranteed on some excursions. If you are asked to share, any single supplement will be refunded for those nights.

Airport Taxes
UK Air Passenger Duty and all UK Airport departure taxes are included in your flight price. Foreign departure taxes vary from country to country and may have to be paid locally on departure.

Baggage
After check in, the carrier has responsibility for your baggage. In the event of lost or mislaid baggage, you must complete a 'Property Irregularity Report' at the airport. Generally, your baggage allowance on international flights is 20kgs plus one piece of hand luggage of 5kgs. Some charter airlines and some light aircraft will have lower allowances. Your ticket will state the applicable allowances for each leg of your journey. Excess baggage charges vary between airlines. Recent coverage in the press has prompted some airlines to grant an extra allowance for diving equipment. Our advice is to check with the airline concerned prior to departure. Should an airline maintain a policy of extra allowance for equipment, this will be made clear to you at the time of booking.

Brochure / Website Accuracy
Every attempt has been made to ensure accurate information in our brochures and this website. References to the presence of marine life do not guarantee that you will see it. The location diving descriptions are based on personal experience. If you have anything to add to our own experience, we would be glad to hear from you.

Child Reductions
The guide prices given in this web site are based on adult fares. Child reductions are available at most locations when sharing a room if under 12 years of age on the date of travel. Where available, details are noted in the accommodation sections for each resort. Children under the age of 2 years for the duration of the holiday, generally pay a small charge for their flight, provided they do not take up a seat or any baggage allowance. Charges for cots will be paid locally.

Climate
Each location section gives approximate weather details. Please note that these are a guide only and that extreme weather conditions may occur at any time. Current weather conditions are available via a link on each resort's information page.

Currency
Please check prior to travel with the appropriate Embassy whether any currency restrictions apply. Some hotels and dive centres have exchange facilities subject to demand. Advice on travellers cheques and currency will be given with your booking confirmation. Current exchange rates are available via a link on each resort's information page.

Disabled Clients
Not all locations are suitable for disabled clients. Please give details of any disability and we will endeavour to give every possible assistance. We have noted where dive centres have suitably qualified staff.

Electricity & Water
Standards in some countries are not always as good as the UK. There may be times when there are power cuts resulting in loss of air-conditioning, lighting etc. There may also be water shortages.

Excursions
Non diving excursions outlined in this web site are those recommended by us and do not represent all excursions available. We suggest that excursions are pre-booked as those booked in resort may not be covered by travel insurance.

Flight Security
Please ensure that all electrical equipment such as hairdryers and CD players are carried in your hand luggage. You will be asked about such equipment at check in.

Flights and Flight Carriers
Airline and aircraft types used for your holiday can only be confirmed at the time of booking. Your departure and travel arrangements schedule will be forwarded with your tickets. As agents for ATOL holders, we offer a wide selection of both scheduled and charter flights and the best fares available at any time. The cost of flights is generally not included in tour prices and is subject to a separate contract, the conditions of which will be confirmed to you at the time of booking. An ATOL receipt will be issued confirming that we hold the money on behalf of the ATOL holder who will issue a confirmation invoice which will be sent to you as soon as it is made available. Where tours are sold as complete packages on behalf of ATOL holders, an ATOL receipt will be forwarded covering the complete package.

Health & Safety
General standards of safety, hygiene, health etc. may be lower than those of the UK. Take sensible precautions, particularly in respect to water, food and ice in drinks. As some medicines may not be available locally, please ensure that you take enough medication with you. Always respect local customs and be aware of not offending locals in cultural and religious areas. Health information relative to each destination is available via a link on each resort's information page.

Insurance
If you do not purchase the recommended Travel Protection Plan, you must notify us of your equivalent policy name and number. If you are not adequately insured, it is deemed that you indemnify Total Diving Solutions Limited for any delay in dealing with your insurers on your behalf. It is your responsibility to make sure that your cover is adequate.

Last Minute
Any packages booked less than 8 weeks prior to departure must be paid in full at the time of booking.

Meal Arrangements
Standards vary depending on local characteristics. Unless stated otherwise in the accommodation sections of each resort, hotels and guest houses offer continental or buffet style breakfast. Half Board is defined as breakfast and set menu evening meal.

Minimum Numbers
Some tours and diving arrangements are subject to minimum participants. In the event of pre-booked arrangements being cancelled, alternative arrangements may be made locally, or a full refund will be made by us.

Photography
Please be courteous when photographing local culture. Ask permission to photograph people. You may be asked to pay to do so. If necessary, please check locally in areas of sensitivity. You may be required to register video equipment with customs on entry.

Public & Religious Holidays
Other countries observe many different holidays to the UK. On such days, services may be restricted or curtailed. They can be announced with limited or no notice.

Special Requests
If you have any special requests such as special dietary requirements, please notify us at the earliest opportunity so that we can make sure that they are available in plenty of time.

Tickets
Your flight tickets will be issued by the ATOL holder on whose behalf we act as agent. Please check timings on the ticket as they may have changed since your booking confirmation was issued. Once they have been issued, tickets are non-transferable, non-changeable and non-refundable. Please check that details are all correct including names and initials as they will be checked against your passport. We cannot be held responsible for late showing and are under no obligation to provide alternative arrangements.

UK Hospitality
We can arrange travel to and from most UK airports and arrange airport accommodation and parking, mostly with free airport transfers should you require.

Unused Services
Please note that no refund will be given for non-utilised services including diving and accommodation.

Visas & Passports
Details given in the individual resort sections are correct at the time of going to press. It is the responsibility of the traveller to ensure that all documentation is in order. Please check with the appropriate Embassy or Consulate for visa details. Current information and visa applications are available via this link to The Visaservice. In most cases outside the EU, you should ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date.
