Conservation
We are committed to conserving
our world. We ask you to do the same. Coral reefs are under intense pressure
from pollution, over-fishing and pillage. You can help to minimise the impact
from the diving community by not touching or purchasing any corals or marine
life. In some countries it is a criminal offence. Please check that you are
correctly weighted and maintain good buoyancy at all times, especially if
taking photographs. Avoid feeding the fish as they have a tendency to become
reliant upon it. Finally, please support conservation organisations as with
your and our help they can protect the environment that we all want to share.
Diving
Notes
This section aims to give
you an insight into the diving world whether your log book is a purchase yet
to be made or is your umpteenth edition!
airline
& equipment
Check with the airline
prior to check in as to any extra baggage allowance for equipment. Also confirm
prior to check in on the carriage of pony bottles etc. We recommend that gauges,
computers and camera equipment are carried in hand luggage as they can be
affected by low pressure.
certificates
& logbooks
All divers except beginners must produce internationally recognised
proof of qualification. You may be requested to undertake an orientation dive
subject to logbook verification. Most locations also require proof of fitness
to dive. Please ensure that you have a current medical certificate. If you have
any doubt, please confirm local regulations or we can arrange a medical examination
for you. We cannot accept any responsibility if you are refused any diving due
to the fact that you do not have any of these items or they are incorrect. No
refund will be given for unused dive packages or courses. Check
here for medical requirements.
children
In
general, the minimum age for diving is 12 years old. Some countries have schemes
such as the PADI Bubblemaker allowing younger children to experience the thrill
of diving. Other countries have different age limits. Please confirm local regulations
prior to booking.
dive
centres
All of our dive centres are
staffed by Instructors and Divemasters licensed by one or more internationally
recognised associations such as PADI, NAUI, CMAS or SSI. We have ensured that
they satisfy safety and insurance requirements and have procedures in place
for dealing with accidents and emergencies. We cannot accept any responsibility
for any diving arrangements made independently with any other diving operator.
flying
& diving
Do not dive within 24 hours
of your return flight. We also recommend not diving on your day of arrival.
insurance
All our customers are required
to be properly insured. We recommend that you take out our competitive policy,
though you are not obliged to do so. We will not accept any liability arising
from your failure to take out adequate cover. Click here
for insurance details.
weather
Dive centres may alter or
suspend their dive programmes due to weather conditions. No guarantee can be
given as to dive sites visited. Dive centres will do as much as they can to
ensure that your pre-booked diving will be completed during your stay.
